In a similar way to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the games took the essential elements of the Metal Gear series and spun them anew within a sandbox environment.Ī game known for enclosed environments where you had to identify and navigate enemy patrols, became an open space for you to assert control over. Metal Gear Solid 6 may not have been confirmed by Konami, but here's what we would want to see in a new Metal Gear Solid game. Once Kojima is finished with the upcoming Death Stranding 2, who knows where the legendary developer might focus his attention next? Since parting ways, Kojima's studio has released Death Stranding, which, despite occurring in a different setting, has many spiritual parallels with the Metal Gear Solid saga. That said, there appears to be no love lost between Kojima and Konami, the auteur since having parted ways with the Japanese entertainment company to form his own development studio Kojima Productions. ![]() That said, given the resounding success of Metal Gear Solid 5, it would certainly be a wasteful move by Konami to leave a potential sequel off of the table. Though the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake clearly shows that Konami isn't done with the ironic franchise, the fact that Hideo Kojima is "not involved" with the new project has done much to stoke anxiety about the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 6 ( via VGS ). After the poor reception of Metal Gear Survive, which was infamously made without series creator Hideo Kojima, fans have been anxious as to the future of the series. That being said, things are not smooth sailing for the Metal Gear franchise. ![]()
